Four piece from ‘da valleys’. Anthemic, energetic with more hooks than a champion fisherman’s tackle box.
Check ‘em out boyo.

These guys are pretty fucking cool. Lots of energy. Fans of the Cribs will love them I am sure. I’d go so far as saying that the Muscle Club have more urgency and pace about them though.

Call it lazy journalism, but I kind of see Pants Yell! as being like Weezer mixed with the Strokes.

For those that didn’t see Later with Jools Holland on Friday you’d have missed Erik Mongrain’s performance of Airtap – which had me baffled, stunned and mesmerised.
Pretty cool huh? I do believe he’s on a UK tour at the moment. One to check out perhaps?

Everything has been very hush hush with TCV. Dave Grohl said that he had to keep it a secret for eight months and all we’ve really had from them officially up to now is a few YouTube teasers lastly no longer than a minute. Their shows towards the end of the summer were all kept under wraps (although, there are some good quality fan videos on YouTube now) and the band themselves have been very mysterious about their plans.
However, in a recent interview, Josh Homme said that it “should be out by the end of the year” and that JPJ said “there will be music, don’t you worry!” Josh Homme also announced that the record will be released on Interscope in the US and Sony BMG worldwide.
Here’s an interview with Dave Grohl at the Austin City Limits festival where he talks briefly about Foo Fighters’ hiatus and how Them Crooked Vultures came about:
I still need to get myself a ticket for their UK tour. It’s going to be AMAZING!

A lot of people are excited about the upcoming film adaptation of ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ and I’m quite excited too – but for a slightly different reason.
The soundtrack features 13 original songs by Karen O. She’s worked with a choir and a whole bunch of friends from bands like QOTSA, Raconteurs, Dead Weather, Liars, New Folk Implosion to name a few to create original music for the film. The music was released earlier this week under the name Karen O and the Kids.
I’ve not got round to hearing the album yet but it is something that I am looking forward to hearing probably more so than I am interested in seeing the film to be honest! I’ve heard good things about the album already and it’s no surprise seeing as I think Karen O is a genius when it comes to writing melodies and ‘It’s Blitz’ is easily one of my favourite albums of the year.
This is the first single off the soundtrack:
